Honored and Inspired: An Award in the City

I am absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news with you all! This summer, my abstract painting "The Point of Origin" was awarded an Honorable Mention at the Artists in Montreal Society's Summer Juried Exhibition.

To be recognized by a jury of peers in the Artists in Montreal juried show with such a rich, vibrant art scene is incredibly humbling. The annual summer show always brings out an exceptional caliber of talent, and standing alongside so many artists I admire is an honor in itself.

The Story Behind the Canvas

This award feels especially meaningful because the piece recognized belongs to my recent collection of abstract works. For me, abstract art is about capturing what words usually miss—the raw energy, shifting emotions, and unseen layers of our everyday experiences.

When creating this piece, I wanted to explore the balance between structure and fluidity. Seeing it resonate with the jurors and the public tells me that the late nights in the studio and the deep dives into color and texture truly connected.

An artist’s journey can often feel solitary, spent working quietly in the studio, but it is entirely sustained by community.
