About Elizabeth Elkin

My name is Elizabeth Elkin, and I have been a full-time artist for more than 35 years. Painting is not something I do — it is who I am. Over three and a half decades, I have filled studios, storage rooms, and walls with oil and acrylic works exploring everything from the sweeping landscapes of Ontario and Quebec to intimate florals, vibrant cityscapes, and bold abstracts.

My work has always been driven by a need to translate feeling into colour and form. A landscape is never just geography to me — it carries a mood, a memory, a moment of light that I needed to capture before it disappeared. A cityscape hums with the energy of human life. Even my flowers hold emotion: abundance, fragility, the quiet joy of something beautiful and fleeting.

In 2000, I created what remains one of the most personally significant bodies of work of my career: a large-scale series of paintings exploring the relationship between the human brain and technology. These ambitious oil paintings on large canvases grappled with questions that now feel more urgent than ever — how our minds relate to the machines we create, and what it means to be human in an increasingly digital world.

Over the years I have sold work through art shows and internationally through Saatchi Art. My paintings have found homes with collectors across Canada and beyond. I live and work in Quebec, and the light, landscape, and character of this place is woven into everything I make.

Today, I have over 700 original works available — paintings from every chapter of my artistic life. Whether you are a first-time collector looking for something that speaks to you, or an experienced buyer seeking a significant piece, I believe there is a painting here for you. Each work comes with a certificate of authenticity and is personally signed.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope something on these pages moves you the way it moved me to paint it.
